Carrcroft Elementary School
About Us
Carrcroft Elementary is dedicated to creating a nurturing, engaging, and educational environment where every student can thrive. As a part of the Brandywine School District, our school is committed to fostering academic excellence, promoting personal growth, and building a strong community spirit.
Carrcroft Elementary was constructed in 1955 and received a major renovation in 1995. The school had a large vestibule at the center of the school. All of the school functions were arranged around this open vestibule with the main office at the back, meaning that visitors to the building had access to many open areas. The only way to control access to the building and improve safety and security was to relocate the main office to the front of the school. The most cost effective way to do this and still maintain proper evacuation routes within the school was to relocate the office to the area currently occupied by the cafeteria and to reconstruct the cafeteria in a new location. Visitors to the school during the day are now required to enter the school through the main office similar to other Brandywine School District buildings.
This work was included in the 2016 Capital Referendum that was approved by the BSD community. We are grateful for the community's support of this important work.
